# Synchrony Card Activation Not Working? 2026 Fixes

Most activation problems are quick to fix. Find your problem below.

> **The synchrony.com/activate page won't load**
>
> 1. Check your internet connection.
> 2. Type the address again: `synchrony.com/activate`.
> 3. Clear your browser cache and cookies.
> 4. Try another browser (Chrome, Edge, Safari, or Firefox).
> 5. Turn off VPN or ad blockers and reload.

> **My card details are not accepted**
>
> 1. Re-enter the account number with no spaces.
> 2. Check the 3-digit security code on the back of the card.
> 3. Check the last 4 digits of your SSN.
> 4. If it still fails, call the number on the back of your card.

> **It says my card is a store card**
>
> Store (retail) cards often activate on the store's own Synchrony page. Follow the link shown, or call the number on your card.

> **My account is locked after too many tries**
>
> Stop trying for now. Call the number on the back of your card to unlock your account and finish activation.

> **The page is stuck on loading**
>
> Wait 30 seconds. If nothing happens, close the tab, open a new one, and start again. Do not click **Continue** many times.

> **I haven't received my card yet**
>
> Cards usually arrive by mail within a few weeks of approval. If it's late, call Synchrony using the number from your approval message or synchrony.com.

> **Is this activation page real or a scam?**
>
> Only use pages ending in `synchrony.com` or `syf.com`. Synchrony will not ask for your full SSN or password by text or email. If in doubt, type the address yourself.
