# Lost or Stolen Synchrony Card? What to Do (2026)

> Lost your Synchrony credit card or think it was stolen? Follow these quick steps to protect your account.

Act fast if your card is lost or stolen.

**1. Report it right away**

Call the number for your card on **synchrony.com** or on your statement. You can also sign in to your account to report it.

**2. Check recent purchases**

Tell them about any charges you don't recognize.

**3. Get a new card**

A replacement card is usually sent by mail with a new card number.

**4. Activate the new card**

When it arrives, [activate it online](https://synchrony-com-activate.mintlify.site/activate-online.md) or [by phone](https://synchrony-com-activate.mintlify.site/activate-by-phone.md).

**5. Update saved cards**

Change your card details on sites and apps where you saved the old card.
