Scammers sometimes copy activation pages. Use these simple checks to stay safe.

## Check the web address

> **Safe**
>
> `https://www.synchrony.com/activate`
>
> Any page ending in `synchrony.com` or `syf.com`

> **Not safe**
>
> `synchrony-activate-card.net`
>
> `synchrony.com.verify-login.co`

## Simple safety rules

**1. Type the address yourself**

Don't click activation links in random texts or emails. Type `synchrony.com/activate` in your browser.

**2. Look for the lock**

Make sure the address starts with `https://` and shows a lock icon.

**3. Never share your password or full SSN**

Activation only asks for the **last 4 digits** of your SSN. No one from Synchrony needs your password.

**4. Turn on alerts**

After you [register your account](https://synchrony-com-activate.mintlify.site/register-account.md), turn on text or email alerts to spot strange activity fast.
